The Hejaz was the name of the desert in which most of General Allenby and Colonel Lawrence's campaign took place. Lawrence's Arabs were the "Army of the Hejaz". But this Arab army actually owed it's allegiance to Prince Feisal, a member of the Sharifan tribe, descendants of Fatima, sister of Mohamed. The flag carried by this figure is composed of the four colours of the main tribes. The red of the Sharifs predominates as the triangle.
